 I felt the same as Amber did when we were told that this class would be flipped. She said that "I've never been in a classroom setting where everything was flipped and you do homework in class. I liked that this class worked that way. I learned that it was easier for me to ask questions and stay on track with the classroom being flipped." It was very helpful that way asking questions were easier and it made the projects easier as well. Dante said that "The most important thing that I have learned is how to create and edit a Wikipedia page." It was different to do that project. I guess i have always wondered how the articles get the information and who determines what information gets posted. It was a good learning experience but im not sure that i would do another wiki assignment. 

What I learned ..

There are many things that I have learned while taking this class. The most important thing that I will take on with me after this class is the Google Doc and Google Slides. I cant not start to explain how hard it was to do group assignments in the past. You had to do it then email it after and in order to change anything you had to tell them and they would. It was super annoying and I  hated doing them. I would rather do all the work myself then split the work up and the others would not do their part. Now doing group projects are simple, they are actual helpful now that I learned about Google Docs. Even in this course  knowing about Google Docs/ Slides has helped a lot when we have group projects or when we need help with something, it is so convenient to just click share and let them know what they could change or for a group project change it while looking at it. This was the best thing that I will take on with me for the rest of school and even after.

I Agree with...

In all three of my colleagues papers the main point was that procrastination was the worst. The first paper was a paper that I helped look over and it was a good paper. He explains that in his blog that he " kind of regret not having any of it done for the first peer response, but that motivated me to kick it into high gear.  I procrastinate a lot, even when I tell myself I shouldn't be doing that. " For me it was the same, I wish i had something to get looked over for the first peer response. I did "not really pay attention to the dead lines for the paper until Dr. Hamon said that we needed to have the entire paper done".  That is from another student, I guess that I wouldn't say that I was not paying attention to the dates, but in the past the dates given at the beginning were not the same dates that we followed. I guess I assumed that they were not, even before trying to start a little just to get ahead. And lastly the last persons post I read, connects with me as well. They said that  "work" was one of the biggest distractions. He goes on to talk about how his manager makes him work doubles. (ewh) I do not have a manager that makes me work doubles, but I do have a manger that does not believe in college. He is always wants us (the employees that are in school) to quit school and come work for him at any time that he wants. And for me that is not going to happen. I do not and WILL not being working there at a 35 year old women with hopefully kids. I have better goals I would say for myself. And get a good job with my education.  Then they go on to say that  "but the time i get home, i'd choose not to stay up". YES! I can agree, once you clock out and leave the place, especially if you are closing.  I do not want to come home to do a bunch of work, but I know that I have to do it and get it done.  It is just one of those things that you have to strive for, so that you wont be spending the rest of the life at a crappy job, that does not fit your plans. 

The life of Ovid.

While writing my Doc 3 paper this past week, I had a hard time trying to think of what I was going to write and how I was going to write it. A helpful thing was that I got to pick what I wanted to write about, and how I wanted to do it. Once I had a game plan, I finally sat down and typed the paper. It took me about 4 hours to complete. but I still haven't done my conclusion. I have a few sentences but nothing that counts as a conclusion. What helped me stay on task was the need for a good grade, but also because I had a support system. I have my school group that we all talk about the assignments and give each other ideas. My mom and fiance also helped me sit down and do the paper. I am not sure if anything hindered me from doing my paper, other than that I procrastinate everything.  I am not sure why but when I do wait to do my work I do a better job. I work better under pressure. And the whole task was to take our wiki project and put together a paper and we could use our opinion, so staying on task as the assignment was not a problem at all. The assignment was wide open to how we wanted to do it as long as we did what the few requirements were.

Ethics.

The two different blogs that I read about which president would be a better pick based on ethics happened to pick the same president that I picked. We all agreed that Ben Carson would be the best bet. The first blog made a clear and powerful point that Ben is a "neurosurgeon [and he] knows how to make calls that wouldn't exactly follow what everyone has planned out". Altogether I am not a doctor, but I have had many procedures. Going into any situation there is a plan, but a lot of the time things do not always go as planed. The second blog that I read pointed out that Carson "stands with what he believes in . . [anything that has to do with] religion". It is good to have a president that stands with what they truly believe in, and is okay with changing how the path goes to make the best decision. 

Ben Carson.

If i had to pick a president based on their ethics it sounds like an easy task but it is actually harder. As a normal citizen i would believe in Situation Ethic. Situation Ethics is when the context of an act is taken into consideration. As for the president of the US situation ethics probably would not be the best, because fairness is important.  The second type of ethics is, ethical relativism is the theory that holds that morality is relative to the norms of one's culture. With the president of the US again i would hope that his culture would be an american culture and that way it would not differ much from the people. And the lastly Ethics, just the morals that someone would have. Machiavelli says that "a leader doesn't have to possess all the virtuous qualities . . but it is absolute imperative that he seems to posses them".  I will pick Ben Carson as my presidential choice.  I read up a little on him. I found that his mother only had a third grade education. It also said that he almost killed someone, but he thought to himself how could he be a doctor if he was in jail. His beliefs to God helped him make the right decisions. His ethics were that murder is wrong and that he wanted to be better. Back to the quote, he does not have to have all the qualities but he needs to make it seem that he has all.

This poem thing.

Family is a beautiful thing to me. I have a very large family from my mom and dads side. I dont live at home any more, i moved out on my own. I have a wonderful fiance and a two loving dogs. Leo and Bella are both chiweenies. I always said that i would never have a small dog and now i have 2. I love my babies so much. I do have another dog, she is a German Shepard. Her name is Mandy, and she stays with my parents. She was my second dog as a child. Shes my baby too. So here is my poem that i attempted. 

In our house,there is love

I wake in the morning to much happiness

At sun down we love to sung,

And wake to repeat it all again.

Barrel of a 45....

I personally do not have a favorite song, i like a wide variety of music. This ranges from Luke Bryan, NWA, Shinedown, Boys like girls, All American Rejects, and so on. Well what I am getting at is, my mood, and what my fiance listens to (mostly shinedown) depends on what i listen to as well. All songs have a meaning, and i would even call it a beautiful meaning. My fiances' favorite song at the moment is from Shinedown 45. When you listen to the lyrics you expect it to be about a gun. The chorus of the song is "staring down the barrel of a 45", so i always thought it was about a gun. Then he let me listen to a speech given by one of the song writes/singers. When I sat down and listened to him explain what the song was about it made sense.  It was about his friends family member, maybe his cousin who was depressed and thought that no one loved him ect. He was having depressing thoughts and on a specific occasion the cousin was late to their house where people were waiting. d When the friend of the song writer went to find his cousin, he noticed that the door was locked and there was no noise coming from inside. Long story short, the cousin tried to commit suicide ultimately he failed. The cousin did not have the courage to do it. What makes this song beautiful is that he did not and could not fulfill the action. That he lived and that he gets to live his life. I also fins beats, even if it is a rock beat beautiful. I think it is beautiful that people have the talent to create such great music.

Hell.......o!

In Dante's Inferno he explains that there are different levels to hell, that based on the sinners sins will determine what level they go to. This is just a personal thought, but i still think that Heaven and Hell are mysterious places. And another personal thought that many of you will agree with is that Hell and movies about Hell and the people who go to hell make a way better story, the suspense of what there action was and how they are going to get caught, ect. 

The book of Love

For my wiki assignment i picked the Author Ovid and the first book that he wrote about poetry. When i first came across this article it was a Stub article, meaning that it was a low level article and had many improvements that could occur. The book, Amores is actually 3 books that are combined all together to be called one whole book. The 3 books are broken down with  summary's of what each section of each of each book is discussing. When i looked at each sub book all were completed except for book 3. So that is what i revised, i added the summary for each of the 15 points it includes. I also added a picture to the article, before it didn't have any pictures. I couldn't get an actual picture of the book, Amores but I did get a picture of the author who wrote the book,and underneath the picture it has the Information about the book. So i am not inertly sure what i am going to write 1500 words about yet but it will have to do with something about the books.  Maybe something about each of the different  ideas that are intermixed into the one greater books.

When in reality they are similar.

We are so quick to judge others and make comments about other peoples religion and what they believe in. When in reality they are so similar. The bible and the Qur'an are both books of religion and they help the believers make choices through out their lives. Both believe that there is a Hell.  " God has rewarded them with Gardens graced with flowing waters . . . those who reject the truth and deny Our message will be the inhabitants of Hellfire". When we go good deeds good loves us for them. As for the Qur'an they believe that there are actions that are"Satan's doing" life tge actions of "intoxicants and gambling". Just as both religions just believing and never let God leave your thoughts and prayers and Satan will not have a path to change your actions.

Christianity...

Religion has been around for as long as we know forever. Christianity is important to us and our nation in our modern day for many reason. When we are confused and hurt we turn to god and pray that he can help and protect them. Then i believe that because religion is so important some people talk about it not too much but they throw Christ into every situation. As the book says "when you pray, go into your inner room and close the door and pray to your father who is not in secret; and  your gather, who see what is secret, will reward you". To me this means that you do not have to be public about your religion and do not have to pray and tell people that you did. That when you pray it should be  a secret action, a special action action that you share with you and your beliefs.

Opposite are not always bad.

In Daodejino opposite can contrast, compliment, and sometimes even complete each other. Just as dark and light, one can not fully have a purpose without the other. As dark can happen because their is no light at the time and same the other way. We humans, can not live and survive with only darkness, our food wouldn't grow, so we couldn't have farms, and the greatness sun brings to our bodies, we would be lacking. As same for the light, we humans couldn't survive off of only the sun.  As the same opposite helps the balance of our every day lives. If we didn't have crisis than we would not appreciate the good days. And when we do have hard days we strive to do  better to over come what ever problem.

Ben Carson

Doing the class project helped with this blog.  i wasnt sure to which candidate i was going to choose, but getting the email that made us pick helped me actually pick a candidate. my group was Ben Carson. he is all about family, and the unity of family.

Soul

So I thought about googling what eternal soul was but all I got was a Yu-Gi-Oh, so I gave up. Then I read some other peoples blogs and got an idea. I believe that when people pass there are two places that their soul goes; Heaven and Hell. When people pass away I am sad, but I know that I will see them again. Not everyone will go to hell for a single action, I believe that people can change and become a better person. Asking for forgiveness when someone messes up. I haven't been to church lately, actually it has been a long time, but that doesn't make someone else a better person than me.

The fight.

While listing to the news, and talking to others about the US involvement in the war against Syria. I don’t think that any war has justness, but I do believe in protecting our nation from others who want to harm us.  ISIL started and is currently spreading across the world. I like the free life that I life does have a price, and it is very unfortunate that the price is someone’s life. War is a terrible thing, it tears apart families. It can also leave men and women single, or worse a single parent. I just watched American sniper, and it was so depressing yes, that he passed away, but more depressing that he did 4 tours, and came home to his family, and to lose his life because someone murdered him, and at that a veteran. It makes me sick to think that there are people out there like that. 

Peter ....

Wow. Just thinking about how it would be if I woke up as the opposite sex makes me feel weird. Im not even sure how to exactly write about this post. Men don’t actually endure any pain, as for females we have ya know our lovely monthly things, we carry the baby for about 9 months. Females have it a lot harder than males. So maybe waking up as a man wouldn’t be so bad after all. Men automatically don’t care what people think about them, they don’t care if they match, or if they have gained a few. I could honestly say it would be relaxing. And now all men don’t think the same way, but for the most part having the males change to females even for a day or two would be great. They could finally understand how it is to be in our shoes, literally. 

Change is all around.

When I think of changes, personally I think about good changes, changes that change your life for the better. And then we have people like my dad who hate change. It could be the slightest change, he freaks out. The greatest change that I have recently experienced happened almost a full year ago. I moved out of my parents’ house in January of 2014. At first I was living with my boyfriend at the times sister. We moved in there to help her pay her rent as her other roommate moved out without any notice. When her lease was up she decided to move back to her home town near Detroit. So my boyfriend and i started looking for another apartment. Now being my fiancé, we moved out of her apartment and now we currently are living on our own, and his brother just moved in. He decided that he no longer wanted to live in Detroit, so he came back down her to the good ol’ south. The best thing that could have happened to me did, I am on my own. We uses our own money to buy things, and to pay bills. Not relying on our parents feels great. When we signed the lease at our apartment it was a step forward to the future, time to grow up. This would be a good change, and well back to my dad. Before I moved out my mom gets tired of the same ol same ol. So she decided that it was time to change the kitchen around. When she moved the plans and the bowls, my dad had a fit. It was almost like a child in a candy store when mom says “no”. Finally we got tired of hearing him complain we moved everything back to where it was before. Not all changes are bad, and not all changes are good. But if you have an open mind then a lot of things can change your life. Without an open mind you may never experience the full experience life has to offer. 

in remembrance of...

When I think of a shared tragedy, it could be that we read together or one that our nation has experience. But for this post I am going to talk about a shared tragedy for the nation. The main one that everyone has written about is the attack of the world trade centers, 9/11. This past year on 9/11 and every year not much gets said about the other airplanes that got high jacked. The only one that gets talked about is the trade center. We also lost many citizen when the other planes crashed, the on into the pentagon and the other that was trying to go to the white house. All three of these were tragedies, but we mainly only talk about the world trade center. When in fact all were equally important in my eyes. 9/11 was a day that our nation never should have experienced. 

Hurricane Katrina

Everyone has experienced some type of tragedy. It could range from losing a pet, having a family member pass, or having their house burn down. Everyone had their own opinion to what is a tragic event. I have experienced losing a pet, and I have experienced many loved ones passing, but I would not describe those as the most tragic event I have experienced. I will never forget that week. I was only in elementary school when it occurred, and it was an experience that I am very thankful that I got to be a part of the helping services. My dad at the time just bought himself a new race car, and myself a jr. dragster, and it came along with an 18 foot enclosed trailer. Thankful that he just made this purchase we got to do something great for others. As we all know Hurricane Katrina hit in the year 2005. This hurricane was one of the worst that America has experienced. After the hurricane hit our church put together a collection. People from all of Warner Robins brought food, drinks, clothing, blanket, toys and much more. After a few week of collection we packed up the trailer (filled to the top) and headed to Mobile Bay, Alabama. I was still young, but the memories are very clear. It was a long drive, and it was a relief to finally be where we were going. We went to a church down there where the people were gather for support and shelter. As we unloaded the items it was amazing how thankful the people were that they had fresh clothes to put on and something to eat. The clearest memory that I have, is a young girl, maybe three or four came out of the church with both arms and legs wrapped up in bandages. And when she got her tigger stuffed animal her face lit up. She was so excited that she had a simple toy to hold.  Going down and doing something good for people in need was a great experiences, and if I had the chance to do it again I would in no doubt take it. It made me very thankful to the things that I have.

Epic Greatness. 💪🏻

When comparing the two epic heroes, Achilles and Gilgamesh they have very similar characteristics. "The Iliad" hero is Achilles. He is part God and part human. His parents Thetis and king Peleus. His characteristics inclused extreme bravery and strength but he does not have godlike powers. He fights for the greater cause. 

Gilgamesh is the epic hero of "The Epic of Gilgamesh." Alike Achilles he is part God and part human. His parents are king  Lugalbanda and the goddess Ninsun. His powers are super strength and a high level of intelliegence, but no godlike powers. He overcomes many hurdles and the he builds a Great Wall around his people to protect him. 

 Enkidu is Gilgamesh's friend who is also a epic hero in the story "The Epic of Gilgamesh." He is concidered a man but he was created by the gods, therefore he is one who has godlike powers. His journey is to go to the underworld and complete this quest. 

A&T 🐼

After making our own creation story I learned so much more than what I already knew, and I made more opinions of creation stories. After all of the groups got done presenting today, I like many different themes that other used. I think that my favorite idea was when the groups had one creator to be in control of one thing. Instead of having one creator that created everything. Another thing that I learned watching the group’s project was the story about the children being separated from their parents.   While listening to the story I did not understand how it fit into a creation story. It was not like the norm, starting from nothing. It started from one thing and it changed to another where the children escaped and meet their parents to start over in the barriers. This group also took a dark idea, the barrier, and turned it into a great new start later in the story. Another thing that I like during the presentations was when the groups talked to us, instead of reading word for word. I like to read what they wrote and then listen to the key points that they think were the most important. 

Chick Boner

My group’s project was on google slide, which made it easy for them to share it with us, and for us to leave comments on their work. It was creative and I liked how they included our professor and the college as well. I do think that they could of put a little more description in it, as we really had no limits, although I did like the concept of their creation story. They had a male creator that meet a girl, like a typical creation story. The backgrounds that they picked did go well with the idea, or topic of the story.  The title could be changed, not the typical title, “the creation story”, it could have related more what they talked about. 

What does the word “hero” mean to you?

When I hear the word hero, I think of the people who protect you. It could range from your parents, to your siblings, a police officer, firefighters, and even more important the military forces. My family heroes are my brother and sister. My brother, Mike, he is my hero in many ways. He is 18 years older than me and he moved out of the house when I was very young. He always wanted a big family and sure enough he has that. My brother has 8 kids; Leah, Braxton, Boo, Jarome, Eric, Alexis and two more from his marriage to his wife, Mary. He is my hero for many reasons, but the most important one is that he has never once abandoned his children, even when times get real tough. My brother is an amazing worker, he always strives for the best and will never settle for anything else. My second hero in the family is my sister. My sister, Sandy, she is also many years older than me. To be exact is 20 years, 1 month, and 1 day. She is more like a second mom to me, and at times I can’t stand her for it, but then at the same time I love her for it. She is very similar to my brother, and she has 5 kids; Devin, Payton, Eli, B, and Lily. Her first born, Devin, was actually supposed to be younger than me but when he was born he was a premature. He was born with cerebral palsy. The doctors told my sister that he would not live to be no older than a few months, and was only the size of a coke can when he was born. Well today he is still out and about rolling around, in his wheelchair. His birthday is soon, and he will be turning 20. So you can image how big a 20 year old is that is in a wheelchair. (he weighs about 120) If any of you all know lifting 120 lbs of dead weight 10-12 times a day, it can be stressful. But she does it all by herself, her husband tries to help some times but she likes to do things herself, to get it done faster. All while taking care of her other kids, and working as a manger 6 days a week. 

Although my family may be my heroes, I believe that the military forces, and our protectors are the greatest heroes. I have great respect for the men and women that risk their lives everyday so that we can do our everyday routines, like me sitting on my bed, typing this blog. The world that we in today is so scary. I am very thankful for each and every person that dedicates their lives to protect america. 

Erotic, Yes Or No?

As we were in groups creating our PowerPoint on what we thought eroticism was, it was difficult to create. Everyone has their own idea of what is erotic. I have never had an idea before, and I never gave it a thought. As our group was thinking of an idea, I was wondering what my outlook was. Growing up my parents did not shield me from media, or the factors of growing up. They let me grow up and learn about sex, and sexual behaviors. Depending on how the person was raised I think is how their ideas differ towards erotic things, and as a person’s ages get older their ideas change. When I think of erotic, I get the idea of chains and whip. Not until class did I start to think that simple “I love you” “my love”. No matter where you look in this age, there is erotic references everywhere. In our music, our literature, our television shows, movies, art and dramas. So really the question is what is erotic to you.  

Four Legged Babies!

I have always had a weak spot of animals. When in the movies the animals died, or when the owners did not want them I cried. For my 16^th birthday I went to a local car lot and bought my first dog. She was such a beauty who needed saving. We brought her home at 2 months old German Sheppard, and named her Mandy. My annoying little puppy all to myself. I have had her for 6 years now and all that has changed is her size. She is still my big ole baby girl. Her weakness is the red light, you would think that she was a cat. She always falls for the red laser light, even when she looks are where the light is coming front. Another thing that she loves to do is jump up right on top of you. While I am watching a movie all of a sudden her fat behind is jumping right on top of my lap wanting me to rub her belly.

My second rescue dog that I have is a chiweenie. A chiweenie is a mix between a Chihuahua and a dioxin. At first we got her for a family member as a Christmas gift. The family member decided that they did not want to keep her anymore so we took her in. I love my little Bella. She is my tiny little princess. We have had her almost a year, and when I moved out of my parents I could not take Mandy with because of her breed. So I moved out and Bella came with, a few months later I got a roommate. My roommate had a little annoying cat, which always got into everything, but another few months went by and a roommate was not a great thing. So they left, and Bella was lonely. So my soft spot in my heart went out and stated to look for her a friend.

And my final baby is Leo. He is only a year old and is also a chiweenie. He was the first love when I went to PetSmart to get Bella some food. I went in to get food and left with a new dog, two bags of food (one was free and the other was discounted), three toys, a new leash, a name tag and chew toys. Not want I planned to get but I fell in love with him at first sight. We brought him home and they fell in love together at first sight. Not having him long he is still adjusting to being in a home. A home environment, not just another cage with meals on twice or day or so. We found out that he loves squeaky toys, big bones (that he destroys in half a day), and chasing around Bella.

The four goobers!

Before I started this class I did not really know what exactly we were going to talk about and discuss. I knew all the stories, about Adam and Eve and the other “myths” about how the earth and the living creatures were created. I did not know at the time they were called “Creation Stories”. For our first project I am a group of four; myself, Amber, Matt and Alan. We like to think outside the original myths, and we are a crazy bunch. The title of our creation story is “The Fallen Star”.  It’s a different perspective of how the humans repopulated and how vegetation, and animals were established.  Were still working on some of the little extra details but have the main idea down. The main thing I love about creating a story is that there are no limits, and no wrong ideas.

Hello!

Hello class, My name is Kimberly Frenz. I was born down the street at Houston Medical Center, and I have not gone anywhere since I was born. All my family is from up north, so I get mistaken for being a Yankee. My favorite color is purple, and I love turtles. I'm not sure how to really write a blog, but I am giving it a try. I do not plan on living in Warner Robins for my adult life. This past summer my best friend and my fiance went to South Carolina. Although the drive felt like it too decades to get there, once we arrived at Myrtle Beach the drive was worth it. Spending four days on the beach and just relaxing with loved ones. We rode jet skies for the first time, the thrill was great. I did not fall off so I take that experience as a win. Later I came to a conclusion that I want to live near the beach. I am afraid of hurricanes, sharks, and mostly everything in the ocean, but think it would be a fun experience to explore. So, that is my story!
